Chiang Mai

Gestern Abend in Chiang Mai angekommen. Wir sind gleich noch auf den Nachtmarkt gegangen und haben dort auch gegessen. Er ist ganz dicht bei unserem Hotel, was uns allabendliche Besuche ermöglicht

Das Hotel - Riverview Lodge ist direkt am Fluss gelegen, mit einem netten kleinen Garten. Morgen geht´s auf den höchsten Berg Thailands, in den Inthanon National Park. Das ist ein Tagesausflug, und Wasserfälle sehen wir auch. Heute haben wir uns die Altstadt von Chiang Mai angesehen, mit wunderschönen Tempeln, Stadtmauer mit Wassergraben, netten Cafés und Restaurants, zum Teil in alten Teakhäusern.

Wetter bisher traumhaft! Bis bald dann, ich berichte, sowie ich weiter Internet-Anschluss habe.

Meanwhile we have arrived in Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand. Our 3 days in Bangkok were wonderful - great weather , too, to visit all the temples, the palace, did a river and klong (canal) boat tour, saw some of the malls…. Our hotel (Landmark Hotel) was great. We had club priviledges, drinks and snacks in the club lounge all day plus free wireless . Here in Chiang Mai, we´re staying at the Riverview Lodge, a bit simpler but with a great view and lovely garden. Today, we saw the old city with all its temples and old city wall and moat. Tomorrow, a trip to Inthanon National Park which has Thailands tallest mountain plus waterfalls etc.
